Multilingual

MajorBachelor of Arts

Expand your global community.

Multilingual majors study three or more languages, as well as the countries and cultures in which those languages are spoken. Department faculty teach Chinese, French, German, and Spanish, and will help you develop your language skills, while guiding you through scholarly investigations in topics relevant to our shared disciplines, including: linguistics, literatures, cinema, contemporary culture, and peoples from around the world. Butler’s Multilingual program transcends the typical mono- or bilingual education found at other universities, providing you an academic home in a department that values and encourages in-depth study of multiple languages.
