Anthropology and Sociology

MajorBachelor of Arts

Dive Deep into Culture, Community, and Change

Allowing you to specialize in two related fields, Butler’s combined Anthropology and Sociology major draws on the knowledge and opportunities afforded by two academic departments and fields of study. You will gain access to hands-on learning and research in both departments, as well as small class sizes that allow for direct contact with both departments’ faculty.

Courses within the Anthropology department explore the human condition from a range of perspectives, focusing on cultural anthropology and research methods. Courses within Butler’s Sociology program. When combined, courses from each of these departments will not only provide valuable insights into our shared humanity and diversity but will also help you understand the social forces that shape our lives.
