Medical Spanish

The Medical Spanish minor equips students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare with the language skills needed to work in Spanish-speaking countries and communities. Each course is taught fully in Spanish, which allows students to be completely immersed in the Spanish language and gain confidence in their ability to communicate.

Study abroad experiences, internships, and Spanish-speaking rotations will give students additional opportunities to improve their skills first hand.

Sample courses in this program include:

  • BSHS/RX 481, Introduction to Medical Spanish
  • BSHS/RX 489, Spanish/English Medical Interpretation
  • SP 375, Spanish Pronunciation
  • SP 322, Spanish-English Translation
